Hello …

Knock, knock … is there anyone out there? 🙂

I have been away from my little blog a lot lately, always so much to do, so little time. So today I thought I would share some random thoughts!

Random Thought 1 … teaching kids to drive is waaaay scarier than I thought it would be! I have two ‘L-earners’ at the moment. One is resting from the whole ‘learning to drive’ thing for a few months, the other is driving me everywhere. Today on the way to school we met a rubbish truck, which resulted in a lesson about what to do when stuck behind a frequently-stopping heavy vehicle, and in case you are wondering, we don’t pass the stationary truck on a curve in the road across a double white line!

It pays to have several pairs of eyes working overtime, and thinking a block or two ahead at all times … that said, my girl is doing just fine, and will make a safe driver when we are done. I am handing her over to a professional driving instructor for a couple of lessons next week, and he is going to concentrate on navigating the depths of an underground parking station in a big shopping centre, something I don’t think I am qualified to teach her. (And incidentally, I don’t even want to go there … best left to the expert!)

Random Thought 2 … the times/seasons are a’changing! I don’t know what’s happening in your part of the world, but here, evenings and mornings are decidedly cooler. This year I am determined to track the changes in the colours of the leaves. It is colder ‘down south’ where we are living at the moment, and yes, the leaves actually change colour … very exciting for someone who has lived in the tropics for years. I have a couple of spots in mind where I am going to take some Autumn/Fall shots this year. We’ve had a hot summer, so I am looking forward to the seasonal change … and if you are chest-deep in snow at the moment, I’m guessing spring has its appeal too!!!

Random Thought 3 … something I’m excited about is a set of free classes that Kayla Lamoreaux is sharing on her blog at the moment. If you have ever been interested in setting up Lightroom, then this is the place to be at the moment.
