local fauna …

The girl and I donned our gumboots and went visiting last weekend …

I will do anything for a snack …

I don’t like wearing my halter, and I’m leaning up against you in protest, till you take it off …

Yes, I know. I have grass hanging out of my mouth. I like the look …

Local lawnmowers … these alpacas don’t tear up the grass as much as cows or sheep do, apparently. These gorgeous creatures belong to a friend of mine. They all had names (which sadly, I have already forgotten) and all had individual hairstyles, which apparently depended upon the whim of the alpaca sheerer. He would ask … bangs? short back and sides? afro? etc. I was amused at how diferent they looked.

The black alpaca in the photo above had a halter on for the first time yesterday, doesn’t she wear one well? Every now and then she took off in a hurry, which is why the girl is looking a little twitchy!!!

Bantam chookies … this one had such a long fringe that we were worried that she couldn’t see where she was going. She might have a hairdressing appointment with the alpaca shearer next time he visits …

And these are the white bantams, who manage to stay spotlessly clean … how can that be?

The bantam’s fluffy feet …

This one stood by the girl for ages, apparently enjoying being patted …

And this is Zeke, the local pony, who has a lovely fluffy winter coat, and lots of personality. Hope you enjoyed your virtual visit with us … 🙂
